Reinventing Audrey: Modern Take On a Timeless Look

Any woman with good taste would peg her as their inspiration for beauty, grace, class and effortless dressing. She was never afraid of using bold colors, even if she was well known for her black dress. She did not surrender to the standard that women should wear skirts and dresses alone. But more more importantly, she taught ladies what true modern elegance is in her time, making her an instant classic.

But times have changed, the world is now exposed to more colors, prints, cuts and looks that can sometimes be overwhelming for the eyes. Some say the classic look is out, modern is in. I however, believe that the two can acutally go hand in hand.

Today's entry is a special one, because I am actually helping a friend out with looks to resolve and unite timeless pieces, with modern influences. And below, you'll see what I've come up with. Hopefully, it will help you change your mind into thinking that classic and modern could never fuse.

I picked out two stars with whom I see bits and pieces of Audrey's favorite silhouettes and bold looks:

She reminds me a bit of Audrey because she wears a lot of circle skirts and feminine silhouettes, but at the same time still have that strong self-confidence of what a strong woman should be.

OLIVIA PALERMO

This one is a bit of a shocker for some, (yes its debatable) but I think she makes bold choices in terms of colors and combinations the way Audrey might (if she lived in our time during her 20s), without compromising grace and elegance.
